Alternator stator short

Hi All
I have a 93 St1100 and the stator has a short in the windings and am looking at replacing it at $850 nz dollars. Am told the are still making them ex Japan. Living in New Zealand the spare parts second hand are non exsistent so forced to buy new. Any ideas on getting a good Stator in America. Please let me know.

USA parts suppliers, like the one posted by 1991ST1100, no longer stock the 28 amp stator, unfortunately. Now listed as "obsolete".

Just want to let everyone know i managed to get an alternator (40 amp) in Australia for $290 and am very happy with the purchase. Well worth a look as these bikes are very popular there.
