Shoot, Dean... your "old" Ropers are just now broken in! LOTS of miles left in them. :)

John, do you wash yours?
At about 4 or 5 years I washed those old ones, based on what Aerostich suggests for elkskin. Didn't seem to do too much, other than making them SEEM somewhat 'weaker', for lack of a better word. Which is what got me to thinking about a new pair.

Nope, never washed them. Well... except the last two pair right after I got them when I found out that unlike my first two pair (2001, ~2007), they now bleed a bit of "orange?" dye after a rain soaking. :)
