I am about to go on about a 4k mile trip and, in preparation, need to get a new set of tires. I have been very happy with the T30 GTs I have been running the past two years or so on my ST1300, and have heard/read good things about the "EVO" versions.
Actually, I went ahead and ordered them. They are also consistently less expensive than PR4s or similar Metzlers.

Anybody have any first hand experience with this new version of the T30? TIA

I have about 7500 miles on T30 Evos (non GT) fitted on my NC700X and about to order another set. These have 3/32" left and might see 9500 miles. My ST has 6600 miles on a set of regular T30 GTs with 3 to 4/32" left. I'll put Evos on it next time.

This is a superb handling tire. I was on the Dragon and other area roads in the rain last week in complete confidence. Wet or dry quick accurate steering and grip.

I ran a set of T 30 GT, got 15k out of the front and 7-8 K out of the rear. Saved the front and 2nd rear take off in case someone needs a tire to get home on. Great handling tire with excellent grip both dry and wet and felt great until I took them off. No PR roar In corners after they got some miles on them. Running a set of GT 30 EVOs now, like the tire so far but only have about 1000 k miles on them. Ran some twisties in light rain and they were excellent! Haven't rode with them in a long steady rain yet. Like the fact they are just as good as PRs (as far as my style of riding goes) and much cheaper!:)

Since 1500k riding my 1300 with the BT 30 GT EVO, great tire! handling very direct and responsive, grib outstanding and riding in rain nothing to complaint about.
Don`t know about prices in the USA as i live in the netherlands :)

I just ordered an EVO for the rear on my ST1300. I hear the are a bear to install.
The 30GT EVO is $54 less than a PR4 at Jake Wilson.

I put a pair of T30 GTs on my ST1300 last month. Still too early to tell how they will wear. I made my decision based on the good reports of other owners.

I tried the regular T30 twice on my Super Tenere and have gotten around 5k the first time, and 4k the second time out of the rear. Not impressed with the wear. They are a great handling tire though.

Just installed a set of T30 Evo GTs on my ST1300. Have not extensively road tested them yet. To my pleasant surprise, they were much easier to mount than regular T30 GTs. Go figure.

I am disappointed with the life of the rear T30Evo GT that is down to 2mm after some 5200 miles. The BT023GT regularly give me in excess of 8000 miles. As I write this, the Pan is in the service shop having a new set of 023 GT's fitted in preparation for a 3000+ miles trip to Norway. Performance-wise, I can't fault the T30, but then again I can't fault the 023.

Not sure on wear yet, but I have just fitted the T30Evo to the ST1100, and cant fault the handling and confidence I now have compared to the old Metzler Lastertecs.

5,200 miles is great mileage IMHO. I seldom get more than 3,500 out of any rear tire on my ST. My Ducati, much less than that. I guess it has a lot to do with my right wrist.

I'm just finishing up a set of T30's and I think they're a great tire, they stick well and are predictable. Mileage, not so good as I'll probably get about 7,500 - 8,000 km out of them. I purchased a replacement set of the T30 EVO 3 months ago just to have them on hand and I'm hoping these ride as well, but last a little longer.

Question for those of you running OEM sizes of the T30 GT and the T30 Evo GT on the ST1300. Has anyone measured the mounted height of these tires? I just replaced a set of GT's with a set of EVOs on my 2008 and it seems to have very little clearance between the bottom of the rear tire and my garage floor where it is always parked on the center stand. Granted that my GT's were wore out put they seemed to have more clearance when new, I have less than a 1/2" between the bottom of the rear tire and the floor. I am not saying that this is good or bad, it is just an observation and would like to know if there is a difference between the two models. I would need to know both front and rear as a comparison. I have changed nothing other than the tires that would impact this.

So my new EVOs with 500 miles on them are:
Front - Circumference 198.1cm/77.99in (measured) - Diameter 63.05cm/24.82in (calculated)

Back - Circumference 199.6cm/78.58in (measured) - Diameter 63.54cm/25.01in (calculated)

Just changed from Metzler Z6 to T30 EVO on my ST1100 factory sizes
I got about 5000 out of the Z6 rear & it felt good until the tread was gone
first impression on a cold blustery day was they feel close to the same on roll in but not as grippy, I'm hoping for longer life as I ride 3 miles of gravel road every day & 24 miles of twisty turny deer
infested, raccoon filled, possum crawling mountain pass to work at 4:30 am

The T30 EVO GT rear on my ST1300 @ 4660 miles. About 2500 miles of which were on the twisties in West Virginia, Virginia and riding in North Carolina with the BRG folks. For comparisons sake, the best I have done on a rear is 5700 miles on a PR2. I didn't do as much 2 up riding on this tire as normal, so it performed even worse I guess. Its pretty wore out as you can see. I liked the handling in all conditions. I have a little over 3000 miles on a T30 EVO GT front and it still loooks new. I have a Shinko to put on in the spring.
