Valve clearance by Honda at 32300 upon purchase:

intake spec 0.13-0.19mm
0.16 0.16, 0.15 0.15, 0.16 0.17, 0.16, 0.16

ex spec 0.22-0.28mm
0.25 0.25, 0.26 0.26, 0.26 0.26, 0.25, 0.25

Yet at 33500 I hear what sounds like loose valve ticking, RPM Between 1100-1500/2000 & then it goes away.

ideas?

You don't wear good enough earplugs. That V4 is very quiet...therefore normal but subtle sounds can be noticed. I'd bet all is normal--just listen closely to any engine in any vehicle and you'll start to hear normal sounds.

But if there really are unusual sounds that have significantly changed on your ST, capture an audio clip and post it here.

It is a new sound & while I agree it is a sweetly quiet purr of a motor, this is not a sound it made until the last 50 miles. As with any relationship, most of the effort needs to go into listening. New sounds indicate a change & all changes are worth paying attention to.

While it may not be a concern, occasionally action is what is needed.

Since I own multiple Honda vehicles, I would equate this with a car/truck engine that has just recently shown more valve clearance than spec, although all other sounds are normal.

I can only hear it prior to putting the helmet on for a local ride without ear plugs.
