Are the brake pads for the ST 1300 unique to that model only?
I'm thinking they must be since the 2 closest dealers carry neither front or rear sets in stock.
You try to do business local... and you can't.

Yes, they are. If the part has MCS in the middle, it was designed for the ST. (Doesn't mean later bikes won't use it.)

The ST's a rare enough bike that dealers aren't going to carry inventory that's not likely to sell.

If you're in a hurry, send me a PM. I have a full set of pads in the garage.

OK, they are rare then!
I thought they would have been used on some other models.
Did find in stock at a dealer an hour away so headed there now. Bad as having to travel for BMW parts!!!
THANKS for the offer though!!!

Rear GL1800 pads used to work on an ST. Not sure about the fronts but I know someone came in for a tire change and was cutting into the rotor so all I had was some used GW pads and they fit.

Unless I have to have something today I ask the dealer to match an online price. They usually do and since I'd have to order them anyway I get to buy locally at the online price.

I do the same, bring in a printout of the online price and the local dealer matches.

They don't stock many ST parts (usually have crush washers...) but my local dealer will generally get them a quickly as online sources. I keep common items (brake pads, caliper pins, bearings, various fasteners) in stock in my garage. Often you don't know you'll need something until the bike's apart.

I have GL 1800 rear pads on my bike. When they wear down enough they get moved to the front. Got a few sets from a buddy...
