Info on Ontario Rt 556

Was traveling to Ontario VIA Michigan this week and wanted to take Rt 556 from the Sault Ste Marie area over to Rt 129 and my Map Source is showing 556 as being a dirt road. Does anyone know if this is truly a dirt road or is map source wrong. Thanks

I believe east of Searchmont it does become very hard packed gravel. The ST can handle it. West of Searchmont is paved.

Thanks PFD but I'll have my wife and a trailer along and one of those, you know Goldwing guys so dirt roads are out. I will keep it in mind for when I'm solo and on my Africa Twin.
