I know this is probably not the right place for this, but one of 1100's in our group trip had a issue where the oil filler cap was broken off. I seem to remember that a car cap would fit. Can anybody help me find this info. We have a poker chip taped over for now.

You can get an all metal aftermarket cap from an auto parts store. We had a group buy a few years ago on The LiST. We fitted our STOC metal coins in the cap's recess. BTDT Cool! Maybe you've seen one at a STOC gathering.

Ok, I need to be more specific. We're 800 miles from home and the bike was involved in a accident. We have everything else Gorilla taped or zip tied back on. We're using gorilla tape and a poker chip for a oil cap. If we can find a car cap that will fit it would a better fix. It is the only 1100 in our group so we can't pull another one to try and match it up at a Auto Parts store.

And John I have one of the aluminum caps with the ST1100 coin in it from the group buy. I believe we had the caps specifically made.

Here's all I could find so far -

The oil caps sold in the "Rice" accessories section of Pep Boys and Kragen locally
here have oil caps for Honda cages in anodized red, blue and polished aluminum (might
be chrome - not sure). These caps fit the ST1100 perfectly. They only get about $10
- $12 for them. I think the brand our local Pep Boys carries is APC or some such.

Also -

The oil caps from three Fords fit ST1100s perfectly. 94 Escort 1.9l,
90 Bronco 5.8l, 97 Taurus SHO 3.4l.

The Honda auto oil cap is a perfect fit. I have one (OEM) on my 1100. Mike, hope you get things sorted out.

A replacement cap was found at Canadian Tire. It was from a mid 80's Honda car. Hopefully the return trip will be uneventful.

Thanks for the help.
