With my electrical problems earlier in the year I was in the mindset that I would not have to put the new tires I had, on. Wrong!
I originally figured I had about 6,000 kms left on the tires (went on at different times), I was in that mindset and not looking at them often enough.
With a longish weekend trip coming up, I thought I might as well change them... might as well?
Anyway, I think I will stick to replacing the 011 Verge rear tire after 12,000 km/7500 miles from now on. The front Verge was just at the wear bars at 17,896 kms/11,185 miles.
All in all, the Shinkos have felt good and worked well for me. Not the longest lasting, but certainly still economical to run.

No wonder she was steeping out in the corners lately, lol.
Supposed to be nice on Sunday so I'll get a chance to scrub them in and do some kms on new rubber.

Rear tires are a lot like a roll of toilet paper. They always run out faster at the end and very uncomfortable if you run out too soon!!!! :bow1:

My rear Shinko 009 Raven is about done at just over 7200 miles. Not as bad yet as yours show since I do still have some tread in the center, but it's shallow and about to the wear bars. Expect to add on another 500 or so before I can get it replaced. I have a 005 Advance on front that is doing OK but with a little cupping happening with the same miles on them. Will replace both at the same time. I am used to getting at least 15,000 miles on a set so will be going back to Bridgestones (I usually get many more miles than many ST riders it seems, even on my old ST1100). The price on Shinkos is nice but at half the miles the economy isn't there for me. I'd rather pay 30% more $$$ for 100% more miles.

That's funny. I've had two 009 Raven rear tires and I got over 13,000 from each. The only BT020F rear that I used lasted only 10,000. I guess that's why they say "your mileage may vary". ;)

Since I do still have a little tread in the center and the outer tread looks real good I'm waiting on the new tires until I wear them down a bit more. The last 1000 miles didn't seem to show much difference. But the 3000 miles before that seemed to take a lot of the tread off. I haven't tried the Verge, but 12,000 km/7500 miles is just too short for me.

Reasonably happy with the Shinko's considering the price, but only got 8,000km due to ........

Could feel the rear end getting a 'little' soft and wandering, stopped and topped up air pressure with 12v compressor, good handling returned but not for long, checked the GPS, only a few km to next town (Taralga), crested a small hill and could see Taralga in the near distance, didn't make it.

Not surprised. Inserted a mushroom plug, three CO[SUP]2[/SUP] capsules seated the bead, topped-up with compressor, nothing open at Taralga, pushed on to Goulburn, checked air at petrol station, only lost a couple of PSI, replaced front & rear with new PR4's.
