Quick link to a IMHO pretty good online fiche:

I don't actually buy there, but appreciate them for making the Honda files accessible...
(and for the other readers: check left upper boxes for other languages, they however are restricted to EC-spec models...)

Other sources for price comparison:

and then is there still your local dealer of course, who might not be that expensive at all if you just give them a chance ;-)
(I once tried your MSP, delivery took ages and at the end the item wasn't really cheaper to begin with...)

This should help:

For the timing belt R&R you really only need just the belt. No need to drop the muffler, the belt cover can be forced up and out (then trim for in/out ease).

I just did my timing belt on the ST1100. I'm pretty handy and I've messed with many many cars and bikes timing belts and not. I can immediately tell from working on this particular Honda, that everything is absolutely first class top shelf durability and quality. Personally I'd hazard a guess that the tensioner, idler etc are gonna last at least 300,000kms, or probably life of the vehicle, and only the belt needs replacing in my opinion.

The grease in the idler and tensioner pulleys will dry out before the bearings wear out. Both of mine became noisy and I replaced them on my 1998 ST1100 last year after about 85K miles when I replaced the timing belt.

I did a belt change on my 95000km bike late last year. The belt is the only part that you need to replace, but bear in mind that you will be pulling the radiator off to get to the belt cover, so it is a good time to do any cooling-related maintenance needed, for example replacing the coolant, or renewing hoses/elbows/o-rings. And the bodywork has to come off, so you can also easily replace the oil and filter.

Once the bolts are off the belt cover, it can be inched up out of the lower entrapment with the aid of a small screw driver. I did not modify the cover to make installation easier, as my cover will slip back down into place with a little encouragement.

For refitting the hoses, I use a smear of silicone grease to make the job easier.

Was thinking of changing the oil and filter on mine this week. But I think I'll order a new belt too and do everything at the same time.
