I bought a Truman hitch to mount to my ST1300 for pulling my new to me 1994 Bushtec trailer. My problem is that the instructions are very vague and I'm not real sure how the front part of the hitch mounts. I know it uses the muffler bolt above the cats, but do I need to remove the rubber bits first? The bolt they gave me was too big to go through the steel insert that was in the rubber isolator so I removed that. Now I'm afraid that I'm melting the rubber. I tried to find a .pdf of the Bushtec hitch installation since the hitch is the same as the Truman, but had no luck. I thought about just removing the rubber isolator and using a bigger bolt, but was afraid that hard mounting the exhaust to the frame would not be a good idea for both heat and vibration concerns. I could use some first hand wisdom here.

Thanks
