Just remember, a Honda car engine spends most of its life at 20% output capacity, an airplane engine spends most of its life at 80% output.

Many small, single engine GA aircraft are powered by wet sump engines - I'm talking about non aerobatic Cessnas...
Well, I wasn't even thinking about a barrel-roll or corkscrew there ;-) (the airframe of the shown plane appears a bit too "ultra-light" to withstand such anyway), but figured that a sudden dive, sag or roll, maybe caused by air-turbulence, will cause the oil to slush around badly, leading to oil pump to run dry for a moment...
OTOH are the (sintered) bearing shells saturated with enough oil to cope with such short drops of oil pressure... every cold start has a brief moment of no oil pressure...

Had to share.....took the MiniMack to a good size car show in Moses Lake WA on Saturday. First time since it was built over 25 years ago that is has been shown in the home town where it was built. Had a number of old timers who knew my father stop by, that was fun. Over 200 cars, with about twenty different awards. I am proud to announce........wait for it...........that the MiniMack was awarded BEST OF SHOW...!
Something we were not expecting....

Yep. And hence why typical aircraft engines run such low rpm and have relatively short life between scheduled rebuild times.

Back to the original topic-Lots of Honda outboard engines, generators (and other small yard/garden "appliances"), etc. At one time (IIRC) Honda was the largest builder of small engines worldwide.

The Honda Jet is not a myth, it took years in development to pass FAA Part 23 certification. It did finally pass and is in production.

My pressure washer is Honda powered and Honda branded. I've seen boats with Honda engines. There's a CR-V in my driveway, where the ST and a CR-Z used to go. Before them an Accord sat there because Mrs. Fun's Civic Hybrid got the carport. We each had Civics before the hybrid and the Accord.

I had a 2004 (?) Saturn view that had a Honda V6 in it. Great motor and tranny, had it until I got the itch for a 4 door Jeep Wrangler.
