I've had my 09 1300 for 6 years since new and now have 132000 kms on her. Ever since new it has always emitted that clutch out in neutral "knock sound" that I think is pretty much normal and have become accustomed to. I have started to notice however that there is an audible gravel like sound in the trans/drieveline whenm pulling moderatley at around 3600 rpm. It seems to not be specific to any particular gear. Sound like gear rattle if you will. It kind of sounds as though the counterbalance gear backlash is too loose, but they are not. As soon as I pull clutch in, noise stops. I can only hear it in town and if I have my earplugs out. Is there some sort of dampener mechanism in the clutch unit that will cause this noise if it's bad? Wondering if anyone else has pursued this sound and got to the bottom of it, or should I just put my earplugs back in and go ride?
