Headlight Bulb

One ov mine went out on last ride. Expensive to replace, the ones at auto stores do not fit! Any alternative?

Take two H4s from an auto store. break off the lower two tabs (that keep them from fitting) then put them in. Just make sure they are sitting properly. AND use surgical type gloves to put them in with. you don't want to handle the glass with bare hands!

Any H4/9003 bulb will fit the 1300 with this simple modification: bend back or remove the two lower locating tabs.

Your name has 1100 in it but you posted in a 1300 Tech forum. 1100 or 1300?

For a 1300! the 1100 is from CB1100F if you remember those! THanks I bought one of those and it didn't fit because of the lower tabs. Now I am wiser!

Usually best to replace both at the same time, or you could have different shades (color) of headlights...

Never touch the quartz envelope on a halogen bulb with bare hands. If you do, wipe finger oils off with alcohol on a clean rag (better uses have been found for the stuff). Finger oils on the 'glass' will cause the lamp to fail as quickly as 2/3 of its rated life.
