My battery tender has been blinking a steady green whether it's connected to a battery or not.

I checked the output voltage of the tender while not connected and it read zero.

The batteries I use it on are still about 12.5 volts, so if the tender failed, it happened recently.

But has it failed?

I'd say something's wrong with your charger. When plugged in but not connected you should see a steady red light. The a blinking green light means the battery is still being charged.

If disconnect you see a blinking green light the Battery tender thinks it's still connected to a battery. While connected its charging voltage should be 13V+. I think it'll go over 14V depending on the battery's state of charge.

Try calling Deltran and asking them about your charger. They will also tell you if it is worth shipping it back for repair.... While they ask for an email, my experience with this form of communication to companies is spotty - some reply, some don't, and one took two weeks to respond. I prefer calling - worst they can tell you is to email them.

Some firms are closed the day after Thanksgiving.

+1 on the red light when disconnected. The only time mine shows green is when the battery is connected and charged.

Thanks, Guys.

I'll probably just buy another. At $20, it's hardly worth shipping back. It worked well for the 5 years I've had it, but with no moving parts, I sort of expected it to last indefinitely.

I just replaced one that was about 10 years old. One day it worked and the next day the LEDs were flashing incorrectly. I left it plugged in almost constantly for all that time. I think I got my money's worth and the identical model replacement wasn't even as cheap as advertised in this thread. I paid $31.96.
