BMW owners beware. This is one of the early, "permanently lubricated" R1200 rear drives, as I understand. Anyone ever heard of this happening on a ST1100 or 1300?

Yikes!

There have been a few ST1300s that have had the u-joint go out on them, often taking the swingarm with them!
