OK, I need to replace my alternator on my 1994 ST1100.
Got a new Rick's motorsports brush plate repair kit ( ?? ) , but I can not even get the alternator off.
Spent weeks removing everything including exhaust and all the wiring around the alternator.
I tried to just remove cover plate ( week with a bad bolt cap I finally just cut off ), but could not wiggle off at any angle.
Tried to then remove the entire shaft, but could not get any angle to wiggle the whole thing off.
Manuals and Youtube 40 AMP replacement do not help.

Any suggestion before I remove the engine bolts ???????????
HELP ?

There are no brushes in a '94 ST1100 alternator. You maybe confusing alternator and starter?

So it looks like my only option is the 40 A upgrade.
Still looking to get the thing off first?
Regardless, if you are doing a 40 Amp upgrade the 28 Amp Cap must still be separated from the Alternator Case for removal.
