Hope you have a great trip!

Be advised that Highway 1, has a major landslide that has closed HWY 1 down.

You can check road access here: CalTrans Map

Thanks! I was aware of the long term closure of Hwy 1 south of Big Sur but will check this closer to the date for the other closures.

KBiK is packed and ready to start my big ride today. Great to start my adventure but it will be a hot day for the ride to Lubbock. Looking forward to getting into the mountains and the cooler temperatures.

19 days and 3,652 miles finds me in Jackson, Wyoming. KBiK is looking after me very well. Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks tomorrow and then on NatSTOC in Spearfish, the Black Hills and Mt Rushmore in South Dakota before heading north to Glacier National Park and across the border into Canada.

All the pictures are posted here

Late to this thread, but enjoying the ride with you through your website. Thanks for sharing.

If you have the time on your trip into Calgary, consider taking Hwy 40 from Hwy 22 at Longview, west and north through Kananaskis Country to connect to Hwy 1 then east back into Calgary. Hwy 40 a beautiful ride, one of the nicest in Alberta and the only reason I'd be tempted to live in Calgary. :)

The Twin Cities Hotel on the west side of the highway in Longview is a nice spot to stop for lunch if that fits with your schedule and it's not a weekend, when it's full of folks out for a ride from Calgary.

You can check Alberta road conditions for construction, etc. at the Alberta 511 website. Enjoy your visit to our fair province. I'm sure you'll love the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper.

Thanks Barry! I'll see how the time goes as I come up 22 to see if I can take 40 through Kananaskis. I lived in Calgary for three years back in the '80s.

Glad you are enjoying the updates on our website.

Hey Andy, we're close to glacier. What's your plan?
Ash, my plan is on Saturday 8th July to ride from Red Lodge to Glacier National Park, up over the Going to the Sun Road and stay at the lodge in St.Marys. On Sunday I ride on to Calgary. If we could hook up that would be great!
