KBiK problems [emoji31] Looks like I have a coolant leak. Bike overheating in Calgary traffic this morning after I left where I was staying. I am at the BMW dealership now and they are looking at trying to see what is wrong.

Problem was a rock caught in the fan jamming it. Problem fixed, KBiK serviced and checked out, and a new tire installed on the rear so I am good to go. Heading north from Calgary tomorrow.

hmmmm... did you get that at RockSTOC?

Glad it's all resolved and a minor issue.

After 9,875 miles and 41 days I arrived in Fairbanks, Alaska yesterday.

The last two days riding have been great. Sunshine and clear blue skies as I explored Homer, Whittier and Seward on the Kenai peninsular and then rode up past Mt McKinley and through Denali National Park.

My original plan was to head to the Arctic Circle today but my front tire is badly cupped and worn. It might make it the 300 miles up to the Arctic Circle on the Dalton Highway and back to Fairbanks but I am not going to take the risk as the chip seal and loose gravel roads are really tough on tires. So I'll rest today and tomorrow have booked for Trail's End BMW to replace both tires and do the front and rear brakes.

I'll head north to the Circle on Tuesday and then start head south. After taking the Cassier Highway to Stewart, BC I'll spend a day trying to photograph the bear fishing at Hyder and then head for Prince George. BC 97 is closed because of wildfires so I'll have to go further east before I can go south to Kamloops and follow the Transcanada to Vancouver.

Your trip diary is missing off your web site? It was there a couple of days ago and I have been following along but not it is gone?

After 42 days and 10,750 miles, I can now remove riding my motorcycle to the Arctic Circle from my bucket list. The 200 mile ride from Fairbanks up the Elliott Highway and then onwards north up the Dalton Highway was a challenge but KBiK performed perfectly. The return was worse as rain made the dirt and gravel on the Dalton very slippery but we stayed upright.

Tomorrow we start the 6,000 mile journey home.

Congrats on the accomplishment. I'm somewhat jealous. We have been planning an Alaska trip, but didn't work out , maybe next year. Stay safe.

Andy, this would be a good opportunity to start an AK thread on the A-Z riding forum.

Oh, OK. Andy may have a few pics from his adventure that would qualify fo the A-Z Game though. We shall see, maybe.

Next goal would be the North Pole, but you couldn't get there on a motorcycle. :)
Not to muck up this thread but you've never heard of Sjaak Lucassen? Google him.

And congrats to Andy on making the Arctic Circle on his great KBIK with some mud thrown in the ride.
