Are you sure you're looking at the neutral switch? Looks like a knock sensor to me.

Look at this diagram. I have them circled.

The SM for my 03 ST shows its location on page 22-27 in the LIGHTS/METERS/SWITCHES chapter. If you don't have a Service Manual for your ST yet, you need to get one for any maintenance beyond oil and filter changes (air and oil filters) and spark plug R&R. I feel more comfortable just doing a R&R of either wheel for tire replacement. Sure, if you're mechanically inclined and have some practical experience servicing and repairing vehicles, etc. It may not be a big challenge to get the job done, but the SM will give you the proper sequence to follow and required torques to get the job done right (most of the time, anyway).
