This is a 2007 ST1300 with 18,000 miles. The electrical system is stock. The problem is the fuel consumption display.

The battery went dead for some unknown reason. I discovered it when it wouldn't start on a 30F temperature morning. I got just the click-click-click. I charged the battery for a day and the bike started fine. It has started the bike four times, two days to work and back.

The thing is that now the fuel consumption display doesn't show. The lights in the fuel consumption space light up when I click the key on, but then they go blank. No average MPG and no instant MPG. The rest of the multi-display seems to be fine. It's been rainy and cold and the bike generally lives outside with a cover.

Any ideas?

Before you panic, look in your manual for the setting that you can change with the FCD/Clock buttons.

I don't remember what changes what, but that's where I would start.

Aaaaand it's back! Sheesh! I must have futzed with it when I was resetting the clock after the dead battery.

Thanks!
