I turned 62 in August :( and had forgotten I was now eligible for National Park Senior Pass. Ten dollars buys ya a lifetime pass. Also gets you in other federal lands and parks managed by agencies outside the park service.

Does the pass get in ya historical places like Little Big Horn, Gettysburg, etc? The park service manages those so I'm gonna say yes? The website listed the places but I can't remember all. Do a google on national park senior pass and you'll find the info and a way to secure it online.

I just thought I'd pass it on, might be another out there like I was-forgetful.

Disabled and handicapped qualify also. And for the lawyers here, no, they are not always the same. :)

Dave and I picked ours up during our Southwest Tour with my three boys back in 2014. And used them during our WeSTOC ride last August/September. We went through the Little Big Horn and yes, the passes worked!

I was disappointed when we went through Devil's Tower and on the same day, Mount Rushmore. It was free pass day for everybody, so we couldn't use our passes there! :rofl1:

Guy-good to see you posting. You've always been "frugal", now you have an excuse.

Already bought my Annual Pass for this year at full price as I'll be in Big Bend twice before turning 62 at the end of March. I'll then pay another $10.00 for the Senior Pass. Already ordered my free Canada Parks Pass for my trip to Alaska this summer.

Ordered my pass yesterday. Their site said it will be a few months yet before the price hike but I tend to be a day late and dollar short so I went ahead and ordered.

Thanks for the heads up Guy.
Marsha at the Marietta (OH) Wayne NF office had my friend and I signed up/cards issued in a matter of minutes.
My K12 cousin turns 62 this year so perfect timing for him also. Blue Sky Green Lights.

As a side note I believe I read on the NF website don't lose your card after the price hike 'cause you'll be paying the new price for a replacement.

well, I hope they wait until June to bump the price, my wife turns 62 in May, I'm sure she would like to get in, in the $10 cost of the pass instead of having to pay the $80!
