Once upon a time, when STOC was young, it indicated who joined sooner or later. Now that we are approaching 9000, the cachet is somewhat diminished.

Lol. Nice random post. But seeing as the OPs question has been answered let me help you with the highjack. ;-) :D

Its been awhile for me but IIRC ...

Set the display to no MPG info or blank, then hold the FCD/H for two seconds or so.

If that wasn't quite right ...go HERE here for a more complete answer.

Does your procedure apply to a 2016 Kawasaki Versys 650 LT?

Lol. Nah, on a new bike that's likely drive by wire it'll have something to do with the mode button and a reset button too, for good measure. ;-) ... & I ride a Yamaha but have a STOC #

My STOC number is #297, got it in 1993, and I ride a 2016 Kawasaki Versys 650 LT.
STOC#086. Received it in 1993 when I rode a 1992 ST1100. I now ride a 2014 FJR
Gotcha all beat; STOC #025
Who now riders a Super Ten...whatever...Adventure bike!

My STOC Number is 5901, AND I STILL RIDE A ST1300!

Well, okay four of them!

And BTW, I've been riding Honda Sport Touring bikes since '87! The mid 80's V45/65 Sabres right up to buying my first ST1300.

Let us not pass up the opportunity to thank KoTL (Keeper of The List), presently Don. We appreciate it. There is history here.

You need to get out and ride more...;)
Trying to fix that. Had my first girl in 2006 and second in 08. Mamma said no motorcycle, they needed a dad, she needed a husband. I'm OK with that. This year she let me bring it out of mothballs and I can't get off it. I was just really glad you guys are still around!

Funny how that works... My wife gave up on me, trying to get me off of them (we have five boys). I needed a motorcycle to commute on. ;)
