I'm glad to hear how well the op turned out. You'll be jogging in no time at all!

Well, things turned out better than I hoped for. Since my veins appeared to be small, the surgeon decided to open the artery up and clean it out rather than do a bypass. One less cut to endure. But they did have to cut through some leg muscles and move them around to get to the artery. Just got up on a walker and me and the nurse (draggin my IV pole behind me) limped down the hall and back. Can you say PAINFUL? But at least I'm up and moving. Thanks for all of your kind thoughts and prayers. Those are probably why I got a 'clean out' instead of a bypass - I was hoping for the 'clean out'. And my foot feels a lot warmer now that I am getting better blood supply.:D
Great news Phil, hope your doing better. Your in our thoughts and prayers.

Great news, UP. To me, that sounds a lot better than getting "field dressed". Take care. See ya on the road somewhere. Semper Fi my brother.

Great news. While you are there can you talk to the admitting department...and ask not to be scheduled back for any more visits for the next decade or so?!?

Well, it appears that in addition to being 'thick headed' and I am also 'thick blooded'! They are still trying to get my blood thinned down so looks like another day or two in the hospital. Hopefully I'll get the drain out tomorrow which will be good. It's a little like arthritis - a constant but unpleasant companion! :D

Home at last! They finally got my blood to a thickness somewhat less than water, took out the drain, and sent me home. The leg is about 1 1/2 times the original size, so hopefully the swelling will come down as we go along. And since it has been said many times -

:worthless

here's what I got to bring home with me. As I always say

"Some men have tattoos, REAL MEN HAVE SCARS!!!" :D

Wow! That's a scar. Old school knee replacement has nothing on that. Glad you are home and doing well.
