    Re: Kriss LED modulator

I have used both, and the SDC is much more user-friendly. I "adapted" a Kriss to use on the Helix, and it does work okay, if a bit kludgy. Sometimes, if you don't switch to low beam before you shut the engine off ( it only works on high beam), it does not start again on restarting the engine. It requires that you flip the headlights from low to high beam quickly 3 times to re-start it.

For that kind of $$$$, I think I'll pass for now!

My SDC non LED modulator is still working just fine with my LED headlights on the 2010.
Thanks, that answered a thing I was wondering about....

Yeah, but I'm still waiting to be pulled over for it. They "flash" more than they "modulate". I just figure, who's going to be staring at my headlights long enough to figure that out.

Also, my setup on my 2012 had different results! During my 4,800 mile ride last summer, my LED headlights started going off and on at (their) will, so I had to remove the modulator, then one of the LEDs, went out, so I had to replace them with regular H4s.

I still need to try the modulator again and see if it was the modulator of the light going out that caused it all. maybe I'll do that this weekend.

Update: I finally got around to reinstalling my modulator back on the 2012. It seems to be working okay. I'll be using it for my commutes this week, so I should have plenty of time to test it out! I just have H4s in it, I haven't replaced the LEDs yet.

While I'm swapping stuff on the bikes, I'll set them both up and take a video of them both modulating! One LED and one stock H4s.

I just scored an SDC Diamond Star open box deal on EBay for $50 with shipping. All I need is the dual pig tail.
