After a tire change (hadn't ridden in a while) I began to notice a vibration when accelerating at less than 3,000 rpm. It disappears at exactly 3,000 RPM. I'm guessing this is pretty typical for an ST1100. I remembered it before the tire change to a lesser extent but it does seem to have gotten worse.

Any ideas?

At first, I recommend to try to change the front wheel with someone else as a test, to exclude other sources. I've heard of more problems of vibrations after a tire change.

When I first noticed it it was a rear tire change only. Because it only happens at lower RPM it seems drive train related.

Not typical. ST1100 is vibrationless when all is well.

I have a lowered Works shock, if that makes any difference. There is no "wallowing" of the rear when riding. Seems to be set up perfectly. I've put on 2 rear tires, and both times dropped off a tube of Honda moly with directions to put it on the splines.

I've only got 48,000 miles on it. Both prior owners meticulous. Could it be the tire at that low a speed? That would make the most sense.

I think I figured it out. Went to Kickstand Lodge this weekend. My centerstand was dragging on sharp turns when I leaned. Inspected the centerstand, and discovered an exhaust clamp had been mispositioned on the tire change. The ceterstand was resting on the exhaust clamp causing a vibration, and also causing it to be an inch or so lower than normal. I repositioned the exhaust clamp (with assistance from my riding buddies) and the centerstand came to rest on the rubber pad when retracted.
