Gold valve equipped fork oil volume

Hi everyone! A few years back, I installed Race-Tech Gold Valves in my ST1300 front forks. At the time, I seem to recall that the volume of oil with gold valves was different than factory volumes.

I'm replacing the bushings and seals, and can't remember if the oil volume is, in fact different, and, if so, what the required volume is when Gold Valve equipped.

Help and advice is very much appreciated.

Measure the level before you dump it and fill to that mark again. Hope you don't already have them apart.

Yes it is different. I think it is 135mm from the top of the compressed tube without the spring in. I double check tonight and correct this if I'm wrong.

I was close. They call for 130mm from the top. Make sure to cycle the forks during draining and adding. Take final measurement with all air bleed out.

If you're not sure, check with RaceTech. I recently put in Traxxion Dynamics springs with their Omni Buffer Kit and the fork oil level went from the stock setting of 62mm to 120mm - huge difference! I originally used the OEM setting and things didn't seem right so I contacted them - glad I did!

The 130mm is directly out of the RaceTech installation directions. I didn't just pull this number out of thin air.
