I've had the Givi about 6 or 7 years and the plastic straps (both of them) have aged and hardened to the point where they have a permanent curve in them and they are effectively shorter. So now the lid will not stay up in the open position and I have to hold it up/open with one hand. Not the end of the world but inconvenient when loading and unloading the top box. Aside from buying new straps (assuming they are even available) is there a solution to this in terms of a different type of strap material? Leaving the strap off is not an option as I think this places a large load on the lid hinges.
