I'm a big fan of the Progrip 714. I run them on my St, dirt bike, and dual sport bike. Big diameter and tapered kind of like the BMW grip. Very good at absorbing vibes.
Completely agree. Rubber for me, hate the (disconnected) feel of foam.

So I just received the Johar Cush 1 Smooth foam grips. When I called the manufacturer they told me these are supposed to be 1.6" in diameter. The pair I received is 1.3". I can't see installing these making them expand 1/4"? Also, the knobs on the ends have one larger than than the other. Which is supposed to be on the outside, small and or large?

i just installed the Kuryakyn 6344 grips on my 2009 ST; seems to work great. Just removed bar ends and added Kuryakyn bar ends. I have Kuryakyn grips on my 05 Wing and love them; hard to ride the ST w/o them so rolled the dice and installed in 20 minutes. Now to get that damned glue off my fingers...

Oury grips is what I use. They are often listed as mountain bike or mx grips. They absorb a lot of vibration and are soft and grippy enough, especially when wet.
They wear pretty well, maybe not as good as the OEM Honda grips. I've had them on my ST1100 for 6 years and they are just beginning to show wear.
