This is a plain jane tank pad. They want close to $80 for a rubber pad? I don't understand why.

I know there are cheaper ones but I just do not like the tribal cut looking ones, or the fake carbon fiber ones as they really do not match my personality.

Any thoughts?

I'll mail you one that I never got around to installing on my bike, for $50 dollars, plus the cost of a padded envelope and shipping costs.

That is nuts. I bought a complete leather Pan European labeled Bagster tank cover and the leather tank bag in perfect condition for $75.

Honda has to represent. I'd prefer to use some kind of tough clear film.

Basic capitalism:

1. Discover you have a discontinued and therefore hard-to-find item in stock.

2. Price it as high as you think someone who wants one will be willing to pay.

3. Profit.

If you put something on ebay with a low price, it will sell, and you have no hope of increasing the price. Price it high, and if someone does not lust after your item enough, you can always list it lower later. Ultimately, it is only worth what someone will pay you for it. Sooner or later he will find a sucker. Or not.

I put one of those on my ST1300 about 10 years and 150,000 miles ago. It still looks great and has not weathered or lifted. It has been worth every bit of the $50 or so I paid for it.

Tank pad for the Police models 08p61-Mcs-800 is only $55 at partzilla. Anyone know the difference?
side pads for the P model are $68 apiece though

HAHA! if you go to the 2015 ST1300P "Fuel Tank, you see:
PAD, TANK 08P61-MCS-800 Orig Price:$68.52 Partzilla Price:$55.09

If you go to accessories (which 2015 doesn't show)
2012 PAD, TANK 08P61-MCS-100 $64.95 PART OBSOLETE

It also looks like you can buy the individual lower deflector pieces, but not as a "kit"! $97+ for the large sections and $55 for the deflector maintenance covers.
