I tried to search for the answer but I came up empty.

I have uploaded some photos to one of my galleries but some of the photos are upside down. Is there a way to fix that?

Thank you in advance!

You can use any pc paint/photo software to rotate the pics but you do that on your pc the re-upload them.

There is a free photo editing program called Irfanview that I have used for many years that allows you to change orientation, crop, change resolution/file size, and many other things, all from the comfort of your PC before uploading.

If interested, here's their site:

Thanks Mellow, any thoughts if they are already faced the right way on my computer. I did that when I ran them through Word to knock down the quality so I could upload them to the site.

Mick, I will try that progam and see if it helps, thank you!

Just flip your monitor! :D

I use MS Office (Picture editor) to resize and change orientation or paint to edit the picture itself.

In Windows Explorer, just right-click the file name and you can rotate CW or CCW.

I'm thinking that most people uploading pics see them upright on their computer before uploading them There's been a rash sideways pics over the last couple of month and it doesn't seem like anybody saw them sideways and 'screw it let God (Mellow) sort 'em out!' Although that could happen I guess.

Or maybe some were rotated on the desktop and not saved in that orientation and uploaded? But once their up on the site what can we do?

This explains the issues with picture rotation pretty well...
How-to-Geek is a great site! Great article thanks for that.

I scrub all EXIF data and that may include the orientation data so that every site may be taking the pic at face value. I don't think I've every posted a sideways pic here. It could be sheer luck or an unintended side affect.

Well the program Irfanview did the trick. What I had to do is go back and resave each photo that was showing correctly on my computer but not showing correctly on the site, then reload them.

Thanks to all that posted!
