I finally decided I had wrestled with the last BT020 Bias on my old Harbor Freight Tire Changer. I made a trip to Atlanta (thanks to Pat's (Sirepair) guidance) and picked up one of these. What a sweet piece of equipment! I had an old rim and a take off tire to learn on and now I'm good to go. BTW, my old Harbor Freight is for sale for $100 if anyone wants to come pick it up (includes MoJo Bar and Mojo Clamps). So if you are in the Nashville area, I've got the machine (assuming I'm in town ;-)).

I am so jealous!! I am down to the wear bars on the front. If I were in range I would have to try out the powered changer. Probably a good thing I'm not as I would have a lot of explaining to do with the Mrs. why a heavy box showed up on the doorstep. :)

Uncle Phil, I'd love to buy your old changer, but a good friend of mine just got a new Atlas. :yr1:

Well, You could take a day to come and day to go back - just so you could properly break in your new tires ... :D

I don't call that lazy. I call it working smarter not harder. And what's a few Uncle Phil Bucks. Smart investment I'd say.

The tire you mentioned is the one tire I would not buy for myself because of the difficulty factor when mounting. I've mounted them for others but choose to save my strength on my own tire mounts. Maybe if I sold my two changers I could afford the Atlas. :)

The guy that mounts my tires for me has one of these and cusses everytime I show up with the Bridgestones. It makes them easier, but they are still a pain.

You'll have to be careful mounting a rear Bridgestone with that machine UP. It has enough power to tear the bead of the tire when you get to the last part. Especially if you have trouble keep the bead pushed down into the center of the rim. BTDT

Yeah, w/no mar I get about 80% of the way with the mounting bar and then just use tire irons so I don't tear the bead.
