I went over 250,000 miles on my bike last fall but didn't think to ask for the award update. I'm about 2,000 miles on my way to the next level, but I'm not sure if I'll make it as I'm putting less miles on nowadays.

Good night, 1/4 million miles on the same bike. That is just fantastic. Congrats.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations, but it has been a pleasure to put these miles on with very few near death experiences or mishaps. My ST has slain 1 deer, too many birds to count (including at least 3 grouse) and numerous gophers. She has performed marvellously considering the miles I've put on her. Other than the regular maintenance items (oil, anti-freeze, hoses, timing belts, water pump, bearings, filters and lots of tires), I haven't had any issues. Well, once I put new spark plugs in and rode back to North Carolina when 1 of them decided to become defective. It took me 1 1/2 days of angst to figure out the problem, then went into a Autozone and picked up 4 new plugs and rode it back home.

It has been a great way to meet a lot of like minded people all over the continent and I count many of you as my friends. As Uncle Phil mentioned, we're heading out on another trip back east in a couple of weeks and hope to put another 8,000+ miles on her as I try to fill in the last white areas on my map. As I tell Deb, a man has to have goals in life.
