Re: New Tourer announced today

Looks like an R1 front end in the image but that doesn't necessarily mean anything... we'll see what they come out with, they've been pretty responsive to their customers the past few years that's for sure.. Sadly, it means Honda may catch up in 5 more years..

Re: New Tourer announced today

I'm waiting to see if if its a viable replacement for the Wing. It seems that Honda's idea of a new model is a paint color change. The announcement is at 7:00 PM Eastern time, so I hope it's over quickly since the hockey game starts at 7:00 PM Central.

Re: New Tourer announced today

To say that Honda stopped making motorcycles is a bit of an understatement. I think they checked out completely, or just threw in the towel to Yamaha.

Yamaha has been absolutely astounding these last few years. I'm sure this tourer will be very customer oriented and well planned.

That said, we need another cruiser like we need another way to brew coffee. I'm tired of the big, fat chrome market. I understand it's a huge cash cow right now, but my own tastes just go to sleeker designs with a hint of performance.

Everyone's selling Rosie O'Donnel and I'm the guy looking for Gal Gadot.

It's been rumored for a while to be a big cruiser replacement for the Roadliner in the footsteps of Harley and Indian.

My dealer is telling me he thinks it's a V4 like the old Venture Royal

Is it bad that I had to google Gal Gadot? But yeah, she's more my style as well. Looking forward to the announcement.

Re: New Tourer announced today

Given that the picture has the Star logo in the corner and what's in the videos, my money is on a full-dress cruiser. Slightly less money is on it being built around an existing, large-displacement chassis.

Those with hopes of a Gold Wing or K-GTL beater are going to be sorely disappointed.

Me too, never heard of her. I too have heard that this will be more on the cruiser side than not. Interested in the announcement, but not getting my hopes up.

Yeah, all the videos show cruiser riders talking... I might be excited if they were talking to FRJ riders...

That was the first thing I noticed a few weeks ago when I saw this.

Well as cruisers go it is pretty nice looking and has a lot of features. Won't appeal to many in this crowd. I was dissapointed they used the Venture name but without the venture motor. oh well.

Re: New Tourer announced today

Nice bike. My guess it will loaded with cutting edge technology, like the current FJR. The video shows a guy pull a level when he parks. That might be a seat height adjustment to help when parked. The V twin is air cooled, I find that surprising in a full on touring bike from Yamaha. Give Yamaha this- they are churning out bikes to suit anything a joker might want or need. ADV yeah we got that, Sport touring? Got that. Sport bikes? By the dozen. Now they have the full boat touring genre covered. I bet the Venture to be lighter than a GL, better load capacity, and handling.

As a coming of age drone pilot, the video has some nice footage, makes me wanna ride, come home and fly LOL

It is pretty nice, with lots of HD styling, down to very specific details. Surprised they copied HD that much. I guess I'm not their target buyer... I don't have much positive emotion for a v-twin. ;)

Apparently the lever engages an electric motor that works in forward or reverse for better low speed maneuverability when parking.

It's an interesting look for a full-boat tourer but it makes the Wing looks almost svelte and a bit dated.

Buy me a Lotto ticket! This thing is loaded with modern tech.

I'm a fan of big-twin torque (75mph @2750rpm) and six-speeds. It's also belt drive. I don't know how that stacks up to a well-built shaft drive bike but I like the advantages. (I wish the CB1100EX was belt-drive.) Dual alternators. Nice. Lots of other features. Tourers are generally bigger than I like but it's still an interesting bike.

Well, at 963 lbs, it will need the parking assist! Also, when it tips over, nothing to catch it's fall but bags and oil cooler scoops.
