I rode my ST1300 6500 miles from Atlantic to Pacific to Atlantic and I didn't see another ST1300 at all until the Smoky Mountains 6000 miles in, not even anyone riding to work. I did get to experience lane splitting in LA and the SF Bay area. You can keep it.
And every one is wondering why Honda doesn't update the ST1300. Not enough riders want them. Guys on this site are buying wee stroms , Versys (or Versyi, plural), BMWs and other bikes. We are like the dinosaurs, HISTORY !!

I see an ST every time I ride. :)
Yes it's nice to sit on a rare beast, but that's enough about the wife.
We have to admit it, the tourer is dead long live the adventure bike.
Oh and in your case over the pond them potato, potato things.
I suppose it's a good thing, it can only be a matter of time before these low mileage ST's find there way onto eBay.
Keep riding dudes, we know where the smart money is.

ST1300 (this week)
Well I may have passed you. I rode south out of Oklahoma to meet my brother in TX. We rode to California, then we turned and went to Florida for a 50CC. Then we returned to TX and Oklahoma, fly over country, if you will. BTW, it was the 5th that we rolled into CA.

Maybe we were all hiding?
That said, I met an old guy at a small gas and go the other day, had to be in his 90's. He knew immediately what I was riding. Kinda caught me by surprise. Then one of my customers asked me about the bike this morning, he was like "I see that bike all over the place, I wondered who's it was" Mine is hard to miss with the double police blue stripes down the sides. Walked into another gas station the other night, left my helmet on(It was Dew time!) The front was flipped up. The woman in the store about had a coronary. Gave me a lecture about it being illegal to wear a helmet into a store( Ummm? Ma'am, it's not illegal, and my face is fully visible......)By the time I paid for my drink and walked outside, the local constabulary was behind me running my tags. I *almost* said something. I popped my drink into my jacket, fired up, and received a nice escort to the town line.
Looks like it's gonna be a wet week for me. I almost wish I was in the car....

Have a good trip and take lots of pics.
I usually do...but like our last trip last summer, I still haven't published my pictures from that ride! :eek:4:

I have them ready to go into the app, just haven't taken the time!

ToddC
NOPE! and Yes! I'll be Slab'n I5 up tomorrow night, stay at a motel near Bakersfield/Buttonwillow, then take I5 up to Lodi, where I'll meet up with Dave. from there it will be SR12 to I80, then we'll swing over to US101. It's going to be hot, so I plan on being on the road early Sunday morning.

I'm back!

I did see a couple of ST1300s on the trip! :hat3:

I got home this morning at 7AM!

To make a long story short (I'll go into detail in my trip report)

Dave wound up in the Hillsboro hospital on Thursday due to a high fever. He got out today and will be staying at Justin's until Friday when Dave's wife will come up and get him and the bike.

I left Friday morning to go down I5 to Grants Pass, then head for Crescent City to avoid the heat. I did see 97F from Grant's Pass to about 10 miles from the coast when it started going down. It was 70F when I got to my motel in Crescent City.

I left there Saturday morning, rode down 101 to 116, then I80 to 99 and arrived in Elk Grove around 4pm to have dinner with my Mom and Sisters.

I left there around 9pm to ride to Stockton, where I had a room ready. When I got to the motel, there was a REALLY LARGE motorcycle group (more like a Biker Gang) there having a gathering. After getting my room key I went to the building where my first floor room was. As I was doing that I was greated by what looked like to me were a couple of unfriendly non-biker gang members (They were NOT associated with the biker group). When I opened my room, it smelled bad, and after dropping off my jacket and tankbag, I went to the parking lot to move my bike closer to my room. By the time I parked it, I had already made up my mind, I wasn't staying there!

I grabbed my tankbag and jacket to drop my key off. When I got there she was busy informing three "ladies" that there were no rooms, when I told her, one just opened up! I handed her my key and left. As I was getting everything ready to leave, she came out and asked me why I wasn't staying. I told her, just what I said here. She said since I didn't stay, I should be able to get my money back from Booking.com.

I then left and rode the rest of the night/morning and pulled in at 7am! I did get two hours of sleep, but that's what I am running on now.

I have NEVER ridden more than about 620+ miles in a (24hr period) day before. I rode 883 miles yesterday and this morning! :eek:4:

The biggest advanatage of riding last night, it was a comfortable mid 80Fs for the entire ride down US99. Once I got into the mountains it cooled down, but not a whole lot.

Yesterday I returned home from a 3500 kilometer ride, visiting three great western Canadian national parks, Prince Albert and Grasslands national parks in Saskatchewan and Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba. For the record, we saw no other STs on the trip and surprisingly few bikes altogether, except for Saturday. Maybe they were all on the slab?

I have just returned from a 6000 Km ride through Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. First of I was impressed with the number of motorcyclists on the road in Eastern Canada . Far more than my home province in Ontario. Saw at least 10 St1300s and several 1100s. Had to replace tires at Atlantic Motoplex in Moncton NB. they has the correct sizes on the shelf in store . In Ontario I would have to order them in. Met another ST rider at the Motoplex , a great gentleman, and hooked up with him at his home in Fredericton. All in all I would say the ST s are thriving in Eastern Canada.

Okay, what's going on here? I had to "drive" (next time I'll fly the wife out and I'll ride the bike! ;) out to San Angelo Texas this last week to visit my son and family and during the entire trip, I saw one member's [cjames431) ST1300, one cop ST1300 (giving a ticket), one going into the Grand Canyon and one riding into Williams AZ.
I know what you mean. A couple of weeks ago, I did the 3800 mile trip below in my Miata and only saw 2 ST's the whole time. On the other hand, I saw so many BMW GSs that it was unreal. I knew they were a popular bike but I had no idea just how popular. Saw a fair number of FJR's as well but nowhere near the # of GSs.

I suspect you might have seen one or two more ST's if you had ridden all the way to the Ft. Worth/Dallas area.

It was bad enough that I had to drive out to San Angelo, so I didn't have my bike, but to go farther east...I'll pass. My ride up to Oregon this last week was much better for ST1300 sightings! ;)
