Okay, what's going on here? I had to "drive" (next time I'll fly the wife out and I'll ride the bike! ;) out to San Angelo Texas this last week to visit my son and family and during the entire trip, I saw one member's [cjames431) ST1300, one cop ST1300 (giving a ticket), one going into the Grand Canyon and one riding into Williams AZ.

So, in 3,200+ miles, that's all I see? Aren't you guys out "riding" at all? :well1:

Oh, and BTW, yes, I saw plenty of Goldwings and Harleys! :eek:4:

I'll be back on my '04#2 tomorrow!:bk13:

Hey, you are in a more exclusive group than goldwings and harleys... you should relish in the fact you are a rebel and nonconformist.

Just returned from a Colorado trip (Trinidad/Raton then back to Ft Worth...We met my brother in law who was on his way home from Mt Rushmore). Of the bikes I saw: most bikes were Harleys, followed by BMWs and Goldwings and one Concours.

Did a bit over 900 miles this past week-end and only saw one other ST. That was because we were in the same campground. I heard him coming down the lane..

Anyone else see the irony in being castigated for not riding from someone counting STs from the front seat of his cage?

Riding the slab to work counts?
Beats driving a cage on the slab! :D

Unfortunately you probably don't get to experience the thrill of Lane Splitting.

But believe me, it takes every motorcycle skill you could ever develop, to Lane Split! :eek:4:

I rode my ST1300 6500 miles from Atlantic to Pacific to Atlantic and I didn't see another ST1300 at all until the Smoky Mountains 6000 miles in, not even anyone riding to work. I did get to experience lane splitting in LA and the SF Bay area. You can keep it.

Ah, you missed the I15 between Temecula and SR56 (south bound in the morning and north bound in the afternoon)! Otherwise you would have seen me...;)

I have no problem "keeping it", it makes going from point A to point B in CA safer (Proven by the Berkeley report 2015 - but I could have told you that years ago!) and quicker! :D

Thrill? If you don't do it regularly, I'd call it terror....

I drove about 25 miles from my home and saw two 1100's that I've never seen before. Could not get close enough in traffic to get the plate number. And, no, neither was Ron.

I think I didn't miss it at all. The Monday morning I left SoCal for SF I rode some canyon and NF roads from around Alpine to Temecula early AM then the 15 to 215 to San Bernardino to the 210 (?) to the 5 up to Walnut Creek. The little roads in the morning were nice, the slabs sucked. By the time I got to Temecula most of the rush hour traffic was gone just leaving the mid morning 80-90 mph HOV combatants. Most memorable riding was climbing up in the Dorado NF on the way to Lake Tahoe.

I've been doing it for over 45 years.... It's just like riding a bike! :rofl1:

There are a lot of great roads to ride around in SoCal! Just don't try it over a weekend! :eek:4:

Hey, that's my entrance ramp in Escondido.

I was also going to give you a hard time about driving the car, but the "if you can't say anything nice...." adage went through my head and I changed my mind. I'm getting soft in my old age.
