Hello,
I been a bad ST'er...Have a 97 ST1100 with 75k miles
Haven't ridden in a while, 1-2 yrs. Had the bike without a full tank of gas. Batteries had died. Replaced batteries today, and bike started on 3rd try. I had to keep throttle open to keep bike running till warm (always been this way)
Then noticed gas spilling on the floor. Only happened with the bike on and the throttle open. Once I turned off the bike, spill stopped. Tried again, and gas started spilling again. Did not get to check with the bike on and the throttle closed. Any ideas where to check...
Thanks

Sounds like the vacuum fuel shut off works fine, and one of your carb floats is stuck and letting fuel pour into the bowl and out the vent.

X2....Lots of these scenarios lately. Your going to have to pull the carbs and clean up the bowl assembly and adjust those floats. Ensure the needle valves work and are not worn. Look at Adam Frymoyer's post on the procedure if you have never done this.
