Made up to Pikes Peak today (barely - Frost was struggling after 10,000 feet) then over Monarch Pass to Grand Junction.
Hope that 105 degree temp we were havin' here in G. Junction wasn't too much heat riding for you. Least the low 7% humidity made it bearable. Enjoy the ride, and be safe!

If I get up on time, I plan on pulling out between 5 and 6 AM tomorrow which should put me at the north 'overlook' on Conzelman Road around 6:30 to 7:30 AM. At least that is the plan!
Yikes! That's practically the Crack o' Dawn.

Made it to the Golden Gate Bridge about 7 AM. Still foggy, but I could still see some of the bridge. They were having a race at the Sonoma track and I just missed the traffic going in. Coming back 37 was bumper to bumper from the north from I80 all the way to the track turn off. Glad I went when I did and missed the craziness - though 108 over Sonora was about as bad. :D

I was coming down from the Northwest corner of California on Saturday and was supposed to go down to the 37, but my GPS had a better idea, so I hit the 116/12 east connecting with I80 in Fairfield! Looks like we just missed each other...by a day! LOL

Have a good trip!

Well, got the the other 'bookend' today! The last 125 miles through Lake Tahoe and into Sacramento were a little crazy to say the least. Off to the Golden Gate Bridge tomorrow then headed east as quick as I can make it.
I like this sign photo!

Sitting in HoJos in Flagstaff. Today was almost the end of me as some feller in a hot Mustang pulled out from behind a semi to pass. The only problem was he wasn't looking and he was headed right for me. Since a head-on would not have been pretty and running off the highway at that point would have been really ugly, I just put Frost on the right white line and hoped the idiot could get between me and the truck. He never even slowed down but he missed me so I am still riding! I found this sign where I had breakfast and I'm maybe Joe can stock it in the store on the site. And here's a second product he could also carry that might be of use. :D

Well, good riding skills helps!

Many would have just thought the best thing to do would be to "lay it down" :(

Glad you are still with us!

Ha, the day I went up, the traveling was so slow, it was like 10 to 25 mph, mostly 10 for the last number of miles! :D

New record today - 500 miles of constant, fierce crosswinds so bad that semis were having trouble staying between the lines. The wind never let up across New Mexico to Oklahoma. I'm one tired puppy dog in Clinton, OK for the evening.

Well, some days you see the bridge and some days you don't. It had to be your lovely wife that brought out the sunshine for you! :D
I really believe that cause we have had the perfect weather so far this trip. Thanks Phil, have fun and ride safe!

Well I should have asked you your route home. I'm just over an hour east of Clinton. I could of offered you a place for the night. Sorry about that. It would have been good to see you. I'll be looking for you in the morning. I'll be in a red Ford Ranger headed west on I-40 headed to work. I have an all day driving course I have to go to for work. Or I would offer to buy you breakfast.
Have a safe trip home. I'll catch you another time.
