Bridgestone T30 EVO Front....Haven't seen this weird wear pattern before (multiple 023's and a couple regular T30's).
The odd looking 'raised lip' to right of center repeats itself around the circumference.
Thoughts?
It has about 8500 miles on it.

I've had something similar on all the t30's and 023 I've used. They looked the same on a friend's C14. I've always assumed it was a function of the two compounds coming together in the mold.

You seem to ride on straightish roads looking at the extensive centre wear but little outer. I personally have never got that mileage out of a front tyre but most of my wear would be just either side of centre. I have just changed from 023's to Evo's, so I can't tell you how the T30 will wear just yet.
If that was a car tyre I would put money on two possible causes, over inflation or buggered shocks/dampers.
Could it be PSI incorrect and when did you last service your forks?

Dual compound tire & possible preload adjustment incorrect.
I've got approximately 8,000 miles on my front Pirelli Angel GT and its still almost perfectly round and still a little bit away from the wear bars.
Check your preload adjuster to make sure its full of fluid, then adjust your damping to match (try to eliminate the rise and fall - hobby horse effect - when taking of or slowing down).

I've seen wear like that on my 23s and T30s though at higher mileages. There was at least one thread on BS wear patterns a few years ago. M L Heck?

oops.... This front T30 is not the EVO version, which is still sitting in the garage. Sorry

That's was my thinking as well Tony.
The repeated raised finger-like area is all I'm asking about, which I've not noticed on any previous tire.

My rear T30 is like that approaching 6000 miles, I have a new BT023 ready to fit to match the one I fitted recently up front,
6000 rear 8000 front seems to be roughly what I get I think. Tyre pressure checked regularly, 38-42, suspension is fairly new, wilbers shock/hyperpro fork springs and set up correctly I think, must just be the tyres and the weight of the bike/road conditions here.

My last T-30GT got me 11,800 miles. This almost looks like the 'talked' about- antenna stripe; covered in several major motorcycle rags. Mmmm........

Yep, that was me. I started running 42-43psi in the front tires and haven't had another tire wear like that. Mine is a pic of a 023 though, but I've only had one front tire out of all of the Bridgestones that I've used wear like that.

Looks just like yours Mike (except T30 instead of 023). Was there any response from Bridgestone? My previous 023's have worn just fine.

This is not cupping, at least by my definition.

No help from Bridgestone. Was told that it was a air pressure issue. Didn't have anything to prove them wrong, so had to let it go.

I ran another 023 and several T30's since then without experiencing the same wear pattern. All had the same suspension settings.

I just finished a set of T30 EVO's, Got 10,250 km (about 6,400 miles) out of the set and both front and rear are at the wear bars. Run 42/38 and the wear pattern is similar to Dean's on my front tire. I got 7,500 km (about 4,650 miles) on the set of T30's the EVO's replaced.

I like these tires and they are relatively inexpensive, but short lived.

That's ridiculously low mileage for tires. Have you ever tried the Metzeler Z6? 20,000 to 25,000 km every time for me. Order two from FortNine for best pricing.

I used to get 6-7,000 miles out of Metzeler Z6's so maybe you would get 25,000 to 35,000 kms out of T30 Evos.

The tire I'm installing now is the Z6. This will be the 3 or 4th set I've had. In the past I've used the BT20, Avon Storms, the Z6 and the T30 and T30 Evo.

To be very frank, I've never really kept track of tire mileage over the years I've had the ST1100 and the T30 and the T30 EVO are the first tire sets where I recorded beginning and ending odometer readings.

In terms of being "hard" on tires I consider myself an average rider in terms of speed and cornering aggressiveness.

25,000 to 35,000 km on a set of T30 EVO is completely unbelievable. I'd be in heaven riding on this tire if it lasted 2.5 to 3.5 times longer than my most recent experience.

I highly doubt that, although I did get some fairly decent km out of a front on a set of 023's that were on this '96 when I bought it in 2014. Front got 20,500 km - rear only 15,000 km. That put me off Bridgestone right away, as my rear Z6's have consistently, through 7 sets, (some on my previous '95), given at least 25,000 km.

I noted that ReSTored lives in Toronto and, like you in Florida, he has a lot of straight roads in southern Ontario, which has to contribute somewhat to the large differences in mileage I have always achieved here in beautiful British Columbia.
