I bought this beast via Cycle Trader last week and used UShip to get her to me. Overall I would say I'm very pleased with everything. She's fast. Shifts smoothly. Brakes & corners well. And there's this electric windshield? Damn....I have arrived!

  • 2010 ST1300.
  • 43k miles (I've put about 140 miles on her in a couple of days.
  • $4400.
  • $425 UShip (dude was fast - like 36 hours).

She will need a new front tire soon and some other small things. Anything I should be on the lookout for?

Nice bike and a good price. I find I have to be on the lookout for an over-eager right wrist. Seems to go off on it's own every now and again. Maybe I'll see you on the road sometime....

Watch out for on-ramps. It seems the speedo needle will reach 80+ long before you reach the end of the ramp.
Now that is funny! I might see if that will work for me if I get pulled over doing that.
Congrats on your new ride. I sure have enjoyed mine.

Congratulations on your ride. $425 delivered sounds like a great price.

$425 delivery is a great deal! How far away was it? I've found a few 2007's (really like the silver) that always seem to be in the furthest part of the country from me. (Of course when you live at the end of the earth where even the trains back in, it doesn't help)
Nice buy!

Congrats on your :bk13:

Don't let it get too close to other ST1300s or you'll have the same problem I have! :eek:4:

A 2010 for $4400 is a great deal! I would suggest doing the Evitek G6 LED headlights and the Switchback LED turn signals right off the bat.

Order some 90 degree Ariete valve stems for your tire change.

I agree, look for a good top box. Mine is the european one for the Honda but there are others out there.

Handlebar risers and motorcylelarry highway blades.

And a better seat.

Oh and mouse traps. Don't know where you will be parking it but mice love to enter and make nests in the air cleaner area. So mouse traps surround mine. Mine is kept in an enclosed outdoor garage but, its a nice warm place for them to raise their young.

That looks like an ST I looked at in Conway, Arkansas at a small bike shop called Pickles Gap Cycles?? Ken
That's IT - small world brother!

Thanks for all the other ideas guys - I'll jump on that (time permitting)! So far, so good. This is by far the best motorcycle I've ever owned. My only problem is that most of my friends are my age (in their 50's) and I have to talk a lot of **** to get them to want to go for a ride...

I hear ya there. And it is worse if you are semi retired and all your friends still slave for the man.......
