If you notice in picture #6 (the second picture of the bore) you'll see large gouges in the bore next to the port, these were caused by the broken bits of metal that worked their way down when the crown started to crumble!
In picture #9 you will see damage to the rubber where the metal bits scraped their way past it.
This should be proof enough that one should never over look checking the condition of the secondary master cylinder when your having brake dragging issues, even though the bike is a late model, or has very low miles on it!
This is also the reason I strongly suggest that the brake system be serviced YEARLY instead of every TWO YEARS as the factory service manual indicates.
Brake fluid is cheap, and flushing only takes an hour, and its a much better option than an accident or buying and replacing expensive parts.
