06 ST 1300, bought new in 08 ... about to turn over 95,000 miles. Lately my last fuel block in the gas gauge has not been lighting up after a fill up. Not a big deal, the rest of the blocks light up and function fine. I assume there is nothing reasonable I can do about it. or is there?

Last as in the one that shows when topped off?
The float sensor when unplugged should measure

1-6 ohms full
213-219 ohms top tank empty.

You should get 213-219 with an empty upper tank gray/black on the harness side to ground, after disconnecting the 20pin 16 pin connectors on the dash.

I suggest:
Clean the level sensor in the upper tank with a cotton swap.
Remove the sensor when the upper tank is empty.
Loosen the 4 nuts.
Take notice of the right orientation, so mark it before removal. Be careful.
The bar to the float is easally bent.
I advise you to have a joint between the upper and lower tank by hand.
After appx 10 years it may be damaged by moving the upper tank up.
You will notice damage when you fill the tank at the gas station.....
A 'gasfall' of about 20l...

well as of last night when I filled up, the last TWO bars have disappeared. If this keeps up I will be out of gas as soon as I fill up lol

By "Last Block", do U mean the Bar that flashes when the tank approaches
Empty ??
My bet is that whatever the light source is for that bar(or any other) has
burned out.

No I mean the one on the far right. There are like 8 blocks from left to right. If you fill up all 8 blocks illuminate. As the tank get used the last bar on the right goes out first then the next, then the next then the next and you are at half tank. When I fill up only 7 of the blocks show up...well now 6 lol

Doesn't really matter, I go by trip B mileage and I always compute mileage after filling up. Still averaging 47 mpg, so no matter how many blocks show up on the gauge I know how far I can go on a tank

If it has gone from one missing bar to two missing, sounds like there may be a pinhole leak in the float, unless the float in the ST is a solid plastic float.

I lost the two right in the middle, renamed the bike Leon Spinks.
Found a new speedometer cluster on ebay and traded it out. If you care, do a search here and you will see some others have had the same problem. There is a guy in New York that thinks he can fix them for $100.
