Pulled a real stupid stunt yesterday afternoon........
While backing my Tacoma in the hanger........missed seeing the 06........hit it in the top box......pushing it forward and off the side stand......to the right.......right into the Honda lawn mower.

Dented the tailgate...... scratched the front fender on the bike....busted up the lower cowl at the very leading point under the headlight where it hit the mower. Would have gone down without any issues......if the mower wasn't there. Bag guards did their job.
So Pissed......

So now I wait....new parts on order. Fender, cowl, and sticker. Almost $600. That would have bought a lot of gas......

PS. Anyone needs slightly used fender...or cowl. Could be glued and reshot....

That's why you you have MBS!! one goes down, Hop on another. At least you know the crazy driver who hit you has good insurance.:(

Years ago I did something similar. Parked my 1982 920 Virago behind the station wagon and forgot about it. Heard the scraping noise made by the side stand and hit the brake before I mowed it down.
Had to loosen up the triple tree to straighten every thing back up. I was lucky.

Welcome to the club!

Though most of us haven't gone to such lengths to qualify, some of us try to make up for it by doing it many times, with different bikes.

If that is any consolation...:?

Bummer - don't beat yourself up for too long - it takes too much energy that could be put to better use at our age

Well, guess it could have been worse... could have knocked over a can of gas...

That sux man! I suppose if you're going to have an argument with a pickup, best that it's in your own garage.

Glad it wasn't worse!

I suppose..... except that I have a $1000 deductable.......and the auto insurance will not cover hitting my own bike....... parts are just under $600.......

Sheesh, I guess you did do a good job of it! :eek:4:

As they say, "It'll polish out!" ;)

Also, that's more of a "push-over" than a "tipover"!

Most tipovers, the rider is touching his bike when it falls over! :think1:

Thanks Bob...I was kinda thinking the same thing..... Does that let me off the hook for an official tipover??????

That's a good thread to add things to....like my front brake bolts not being torqued down and one of them falling out at 70 mph...

AAaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry. Over before it began really though. By the time you realize it... by the time you hear the sound... by the time you associate the little bump with what just occurred, all you can do is survey the damage. (that should be read withthe voice of experience speaking)

Next time you are over you will need to look at the shop door. I've lost count how many times I've backed into it forgetting the minivan rear hatch is still open...

DON"T throw away the bad plastic. OKBobW will LOVE to have it. He's excellent at fiberglass repair and will use it on one of his rebuilds. Throw it in the corner and if I'm not over by STOCtoberfest I'll pick it up then and can drop it off for him. Or, better yet, maybe he'll attend and take it home himself?

Maybe we could have a small ceremony at the fire-pit to retire the broken pieces?

Oh darn, oh my and what the.....I can imagine the lecture you gave yourself. I got a dent in my tailgate to remind me about paying more attention. A unlocked hitch on the boat jumped up and dinged it. We all have a day like that Like Melli said at least it wasn't a gas can or worse
