On my 2017 Subaru Impreza Limited, Reverse Automatic Braking will first sound an alarm and then activate automatic deceleration. If you try to keep backing up, automatic hard braking will be applied and a continuous beep will sound.

With that said, if you are backing up "at speed", not much can help you!!

Sorry for the thread hijack, didn't mean to cause a fuss... :(
Thanks for the hijack. I didn't know that those systems exist.

Neither did I.

That's for the clarification. It seemed to me that oranges were being compared to your apples.

You're right but I wonder what the distances are compared to when automatic braking starts. The backup sensors might not detect overhangs. Anyway these are aids we can appreciate but don't rely on.

Ya Hoo!!! The new parts showed up today.
Now to remove all the rubber wind deflectors from the old fairing......:think1:
I installed them only two years ago, so I am hoping that they will come off easily.

Get it done? I would think new 3m tape might be in order.

You may have already considered this, but mild application of a heat gun may aid removal. Good luck.

All parts replaced....and rubber wind deflectors came off easy and glue was tacky enough on the 3M tape to just reapply.....

The best part is.....we have neighbors who are wild land fire fighters.....and they pay us to kennel their happy go lucky yellow lab. They insist on paying us. Better than a real kennel they say......plus Maggie gets a friend.
So far this year, due to all the fires, that dog has more than paid for all these parts....:bow1:
