Say WHAT!! 127 seriously! So the GT isn't limited to 127? I like the speed of the ST but always felt it could use another 50 horse..
GT is limited to 151. I've seen 157 on the speedo with 147 showing on GPS. That was enough for me. Here is a shot of 144.

I guess in reality the speed limiter isn't that big of a deal. I have had the ST north of 140 indicated (can't remember exact speed-2 lane country road). With that said I also know the ST speedo is approximately 5mph high last I checked with my gps. I just don't like the idea it's limited. I have had the St wobble at 130 ish with the trunk on the back. Hasn't happened at all since it stays off now.

The sensible side says the 1600B is too much for a bike. The other side says screw it you only live once.

There's a post on the BMW MOA forum that quotes the owner of one of the largest BMW dealerships in the USA saying that the current BMW's are not designed to last more than ten years. Ten years. And he goes on to say that it doesn't matter if you leave it parked in a garage, or ride it all the time.

I'd take a Honda any day. ST. CTX1300. Goldwing. Twenty years from now, they'll be running.

Sorry, but I thought planned obsolescence went out in the 70's with Detroit.

I knew it would be awhile before I found a replacement for the ST. Not that I was looking for one either. But one ride on the 1600B and I could easily and hopefully will move on to that. Can't complain about the ST at all, great great bike. I've put 60K trouble free miles on it. For a time I was commuting over 100 miles a day rain or shine year round. I know the odds are the BMW will not be as trouble free. But being a mechanic and getting a shop manual probably does not worry me as much as others when it comes to maintenance and repairs. Hell I deal with canbus issues on the new trucks almost daily. I do wish mother Honda would update the ST or some other sport touring bike. Your absolutely right in that 20 years from now ST's will still be on the road. The 1600B is just too nice for me to blow it off.lol

Make sure and get a GS-911 so you can reset the Maintenance-minder. It is a great product. I hook mine to my lap top or to my phone.

Too busy riding my obsolete 2015 BMW to worry about the MOA forum. Just passed 56K on the way to 60K before the end of the month. Loving the life!

Rode BMW's for 35 years and that is one ugly bike. Seems like BMW can't decide what kind of bikes they want to make so they are slinging stuff at every market, whether it makes sense or not.
