Hurricane Harvey - everyone OK? Ways to help..

For our ST friends down there, it's predicted to be pretty crazy but I hope things don't get that bad. Please post up how things are going for you.

Re: South Texas - Hurricane Harvey - everyone OK down there?

Henry is strengthening much more than predicted.....weather guy just said it's a category 4 and not on shore yet. This one may smash their predictions. So far, in the Fort Worth area anyway, it's just cooler.

No significant impact from Harvey yet here in Alief, just some rain, no strong wind gusts yet unless I slept through it last night. I have no doubt that we will experience heavy rain and some strong winds in the neighborhood before the weekend is over.

I have friends in Port Neches that had to evacuate inland. He used to ride a ST1100 until health problems intervened.

As Don said, nothing significant yet.

We still have almost a week to go before this storm decides to leave the south/southeast Texas area. So far, just off and on heavy rain squalls. No flooding in my area yet but that will probably change as the bayous start to back up.

I'm sure glad I wasn't in Rockport last night. This is the town that the mayor supposedly told residents who failed to obey the mandatory evacuation order to write their name and social security number on their arm so that they could be identified in case they didn't make it through the night alive.

I happened to catch the weather radar last night just as Harvey's eyewall made landfall. Rockport is at the 10 o'clock position. The storm hit with 130 mph winds:

EDIT 1: I heard this morning that the wind speed when it made landfall was 137 mph.

EDIT 2: Looks like I forgot to post the radar picture:

    Serious business.

People who elect to stand their ground then need rescuing put others in jeopardy.

The Mayor (pro tem) made some excellent points and gave excellent advice to those who are smart enough to take it. I don't know the status of the storm but hope everyone stays safe.
Don't tell me what I know. Tell me what I don't know.

    Things have changed a little.

Was a busy and interesting day yesterday. Got water in the garage and came very close to getting water in the house.

We are completely stranded. No way to get out of our neighborhood. Wouldn't do any good anyway as most roads & highways around here are flooded.

Right in the middle of a torrential rain squall, I had to frantically raise up my three cars (stored outside) about 5" to keep them from getting water inside. It was a real race as the water was rising fast as I worked.

3+- more days of this to go.

My Versys sits getting it's feet wet:

Two of my 3 cars after raising them up:

There is no way to escape right now. Each drop symbol represents high water:
