I just bought an Abby Skylift with fitting for the ST1300 2004. The thing is only right hand fitting goes into the swing arm. The left side is totally different. I don't know what is behind the pin in the picture..image.jpg
Or if I am just able to undo in as its tight at the moment

According to this video nothing is removed to operate the lift. Are you sure you have the necessary fittings/adapters?

UPDATE: Unless I missed it in the list on their web site, they don't offer a kit for the ST.

I would not remove/alter/loosen the swingarm pivot bolt for any reason!
As stated, I did not see fitment for your vehicle on their website.
While I have heard of these lifts, I have not seen one in person. The only person I talked to that had one, said the jack lost its fluid, the bike came crashing down, and tossed the bike on its side.
This is why I don't like ANY lifts that use hydraulics.
I prefer a simple K&L center jack, or worm driven lift.
