I feel what you are thinking Joe but they have to be competitive, MSRP on this version probably start out @ $22,000 and the GL version base model @ $28,000

Current pricing is just short of $25K to $29K. I don't see how a new generation could go backward $3K in price.

Since there is no vents in the colored part of the fairing, they're going to vent out the back?

Yeah, I know... I remember when my 1st 2 GL1800 ABS versions were close to what I got my Super Tenere for... then when they started all that package pricing stuff to get abs it jumped quickly.

I guess we will know in November---- I am excited about the ST version--from what I hear they are light and much faster with awesome suspension upgrades as the pics represent. Honda will also offer an automatic and manual shift version. FJR guys will be crying :)

Not really the ST version, more accurately, the F6B version. But, pretty close to ST-ish.

look at post #98
Work is blocking that image but assume it's the same as #71 and maybe #79? Bottom line is you think the new GW has some ST similarities... light and fast?

Or is it a new ST with GW similarities? ;)

From what I'm hearing it more STish than the F6B ever was----gonna find out soon :run1:
Well, I've had 2 GL1800s and the difference between them and the ST is not as large as many would think.. slimming the fairing and saddlebags down some would give it a lighter appearance.

However, even though that F6 engine is a smooth with lots of torque, it's not a V4.. I like a higher revving bike myself..

If they can truly refresh the wing, hopefully lighten it up a little, and still add the tech so many like it will be a tough thing to resist. The wing was the only bike I could drive off the dealer showroom and ride 1000 miles with little effort. Everything else I've been on before and after had to have several seat/bar/peg adjustments.

Only a little over a month away.. I'll just be happy it's not another ATV.. lol

If what I'm hearing is true it is lighter, more powerful with plenty of tech upgrades. New frame and suspension. Engine will be smaller and upgraded too.

Would have liked to have been around when the ST1300 was just rumors. Probably an exciting time, especially when it came out and was so different from the ST1100. Of course, the intertubes back then weren't what they are now.

I was at the Hub in Arkansas early this year in Feb,I met two older gentlemen riding ST1100's. One was 89 years old from TX and the other I think 84 from Mississippi and they would meet up twice a year and ride together, drink a little moonshine and talk about whatever (they loved sportbikes and had some classics in earlier years). I had the pleasure of riding with them (they wore leather and no helmets) and we shared some moonshine. One of em made a comment about the ST1300 and he wanted one as soon as his ST1100 wears out. He had bought his 1100 new 1992 and hadn't worn it out yet with over 200,000 miles.
