A '96 ST1100 I bought this week has risers. The handlebar cover is missing. I bought a used cover on eBay. I'd appreciate any install suggestions or photos showing a cover used with risers. Thanks.

Here is what I did:

I have higher risers and didn't like the look of the naked bars. The way the stock cover surrounds the handlebars makes it pretty easy to trim around just about anything you add. Once trimmed, my plastic had a tendancy to vibrate at times, so I took some insulation for plumbing pipes of the correct diameter and used it to cushion the cover by making it the same interior diameter of the stock cut-out. For the key, I just trimmed back the circle until I had enough clearance.

I installed a set of 4 inch home brew risers and I still have my cover. But it's in a box in the garage. I like the naked handlebar look !!

Hi All,
Thanks for the info provided on this thread. I was looking to add a RAM Mount for a GPS unit on my '94 ST1100 and wound up using my existing handlebar cover to attach the RAM 1" Ball mount and it fits perfectly in the inset Honda emblem in the middle of the cover. (N.B. I bought the RAP-B-379U-M81208 for <$10.00). I took the emblem out and re-positioned it on the cover, drilled a suitable hole and threaded the mount into the handlebar cover. A bit of threadlock and a nut and voila! - a nice fit. Pics as follows:

Two hour ride in AZ and all is secure.
I just wanted to close the loop on my part of this thread.
Cheers,
Bill
