IMG_3089.jpgservice manual mentions replace if more than 3/4 of copper is exposed on bushing. I see a lot of copper on the slider bushing. Are they just referring to the lower fork pipe bushing for copper showing? Thanks

There is a darker Teflon coating that wears off to expose the copper. They are not that expensive. Find the local dealer who services any law enforcement bikes and they will probably have them in stock.

The teflon is only on the sliding face, not the back face. On your photo, the upper bushing is showing the back face (very coppery) and the lower bushing is showing the sliding face (not worn at all). Unless the upper bushing is showing wear inside where it slides against the fork tube, I don't see any need to replace these.

Yes, the upper bushing wears on the inside and the lowers wear on the outside as Terry says in post #3. The uppers look worn slap out until you look on the inside.

Any of you fine people happen to know where Duluth GA PD has their bikes serviced ? I may need to stalk down a local LEO , it just doesn't seem like a good idea.

Discounthondaparts is cheaper than a dealer and their service is excellent.

I would not stalk a LEO, just walk up to one and ask away.
