One of my riding buddies has a 98 Connie that has a down shifting problem. It takes 2 or 3 times of hitting the shifter to get down to the next gear. It up shifts ok so not quite sure what to look for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Peterz

I'm guessing here. Is there and adjustment on the shift lever that might have loosened and allowed the lever to drop a bit? I hate to consider the alternative (something internal, which means expensive).

MaxPete's reply raises the question, does he 'blip' the throttle when downshifting? It's been so long since I've had my Concours that I don't remember if I used the clutch for downshifts or not, but either way I can see where downshifting without the proper throttle application could make downshifting difficult. I would like to assume that if your friend has been riding for awhile he would know this, but you know what they say about assume.
